The City of Wayzata's Motor Vehicle Department is a deputy registrar office that handles registration and licensing of motor vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs. The department issues fishing and hunting licenses and offers passport application processing by appointment only. Passport photos do not need an appointment.
*Please note there is a new insurance requirement--effective January 1, 2016 insurance information must be provided at the time of registration renewal, title transfer, or application for new Minnesota title/registration per Minnesota Statute Chapter 169.798, Subd. 4.
Wayzata Motor Vehicle does not accept applications for duplicate “Enhanced Drivers License’s”, as these are done at your local Driver’s License Exam Station.

The Wayzata Motor Vehicle Department accepts cash, check and credit / debit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). A 2.45% convenience fee will be added to your transaction when using a credit or debit card. Passport application processing must be paid by check only.
