Liquor Store Supervisor (Full-time)

The City of Wayzata is now accepting employment applications for the position of a Full-Time Liquor Store Supervisor for Wayzata Wine & Spirits.

Wayzata is a premier suburb located 11 miles west of downtown Minneapolis. With a population of 4,500 people, Wayzata is a tight-knit community which is known for its vibrant downtown and picturesque setting on Lake Minnetonka. A popular destination for visitors, Wayzata’s downtown is home to a number of specialty shops, boutiques, professional services, and restaurants. Wayzata’s business districts and residential neighborhoods provide a significant tax base for this unique small town community.

General Duties:

Responsible for strict control and maintenance of the sale and purchase of alcohol beverages, ensuring that all laws and regulations are strictly adhered to. The Liquor Store Supervisor will promote and maintain good public relations and customer service. Responsible for training and supervising of all staff in all aspects of their position from product knowledge, to customer service, to store operations. The Liquor Store Supervisor will report directly to the General Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, valid MN Driver’s license, Minimum of three years of alcohol beverage industry experience, Must be available to work a schedule that includes a variety of days, evenings, weekends and holidays, Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds regularly, Excellent customer service skills are required and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Desired Qualifications:

Prefer experience in a municipal off-sale liquor operation, CSW, CSS, WSET, Cicerone or other approved certification and/or purchasing of alcohol and experience with store financials.
