Demolition Permits

Demolition Process

Demolition of a structure cannot begin until utility disconnects have been verified by the regulating authority and a permit has been issued. Tree protection, erosion control, water and sewer disconnects must be inspected by the city staff before a demolition permit is issued.

Scheduling an Inspection

To schedule an inspection, please contact the main inspections line during normal business hours.

Application Process

Complete a demolition checklist and a building permit application prior to demolition. The demolition checklist requires separate sewer and water disconnect permits prior to performing the disconnects. These documents can be found on our permits and licensing page.

You may pick up an application at Wayzata City Hall or apply online on our Permits and Licensing page.

Fee Schedule and Demo Checklist information can also be found on our Permits and Licensing page.
