The City of Wayzata is currently accepting employment applications for the position of a full-time Police Officer and accepting applications to establish an ongoing eligibility list for 2020 future hiring purposes.
The Police Officer position is a full-time position that participates in law enforcement efforts that include police patrol duties, crime prevention, investigations, emergency response and public assistance. To protect and promote public safety throughout the city through enforcement of all federal, state, and local laws; the preservation of public peace; the protection of life and property; the prevention of crime; and the detection and apprehension of violators of the law. Assist in the judicial process by reporting the facts of investigations to the prosecuting attorneys and by testifying in court. The police officer works under the direction of the Police Sergeant and under the general direction of the Police Chief.
Valid MN POST license or be eligible for licensing by February 5, 2020
Emergency Medical Responder certification
Valid driver’s license and good driving record at the time of appointment
Must meet all state-mandated requirements and local policies such as a physical examination, psychological exam and criminal background check.
The 2020 salary range is $27.74 to $38.95 per hour, depending on qualifications along with excellent benefits. For complete information on the position, please see the attached job description.
