Participate in a broad range of planning and zoning efforts, including development and redevelopment activities, interpretation of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances, research and background studies, long-range planning, and Zoning Code enforcement. This position will act as the staff liaison to the Heritage Preservation Board and provide support to the Planning Commission, City Council, and Zoning Study Task Force.
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture or a related field
At least one year of professional planning experience
Possession of a valid MN driver's license
Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture or a related field
Professional planning experience working at a city
Knowledge of best practices in architectural design
Experience in historic preservation
Experience studying, writing, and managing updates to zoning codes
