Lake Street construction begins

The first phase of Panoway on Wayzata Bay has begun. This phase includes the reconstruction of Lake Street from Barry Avenue to Broadway Avenue to incorporate more pedestrian and bicycle-friendly features as well as the replacement of the existing surface lot with a plaza park near Lake Street and Broadway Avenue.

Panoway - Lake Street

Project updates
Eastbound Lake Street is closed from Ferndale Road to Barry Avenue, but one-way westbound traffic is available. The project team began removing the current street signs, streetlights and paving. Needed utility work is also underway as a part of this project.

Coming up next
Beginning April 10, Lake Street from Walker Avenue to Broadway Avenue will be closed. The project team will continue removing paving between Ferndale Road and Barry Avenue.

Supporting local businesses
As construction begins and the Governor’s stay-at-home order continues, the Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce has put together resources on its #WayzataTogether webpage on how to support local businesses during this time.
