City Hall Reentry Plan Now Online

As City employees return to the workplace and the community begins visiting City Hall and the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD), it’s important that public spaces balance the health and safety comfort levels of all people. The City respects each other’s well-being, and preparedness, agility and resilience are vital as doors reopen to the public.

While protocols change daily and things still are still unknown, the City has a reentry plan for moving forward. Below is a snapshot of what visitors can expect at City Hall and the MVD. A detailed reentry plan for City facilities is online on the City's website.

What to expect when visiting:

  • Wearing a face mask or a face covering when visiting City facilities is strongly encouraged.
  • Hand sanitizer stations at entrances and vestibules.
  • Plexi-glass dividers (sneeze guards) at all customer service stations.
  • Social distancing markers on the floor in front of customer service counters.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitizing operations in restrooms and in customer service and employee service areas.
  • City employees will self-assess their health before reporting to work each day. Anyone with a fever, cough, shortness of breath or with other symptoms of COVID 19, is required to stay home.

Stack the Semi Organizers Thank the Community

A message from Stack the Semi organizers

"We wanted to chime in one last time to offer our upmost gratitude for the fantastic support we got from all of you, the leaders of our community. Our achievement went way beyond what we had hoped for. Instead of #stackthesemi, we # stacked2semis!! The support from our community was incredible. IOCP was filled to the brim along with a full container sitting in their lot. The second full semi went to Frogtown in St. Paul which had never seen anything like what we brought them. The cool thing was that we had a team of 15 people go to Frogtown last Friday for about six hours to help them pack boxes of food for their community. Friday was the day donations were given to the community. The amount of people that came through the line to get donations was wrapped around the block a couple of times. The feeling our team got from doing good and helping out that day can’t be measured and  the lessons our kids learned through the whole process of giving back to the community is what will provide the wherewithal to make #stackthesemi an annual event. That is ultimately how we define success."

Wayzata Area Chamber Releases a "Thank You" Video

Typically during his time of year, the Wayzata Area Chamber hosts a picnic to thank its business and community members. In lieu of the picnic, the chamber created a video for the community, to thank everyone for their time, energy, passion, and membership, from a safe distance. #WayzataTogether. Video Link

Construction Projects

Panoway on Wayzata Bay (Phase 1) – Lake Street (Broadway Ave to Ferndale Rd)

In the last couple of weeks, the contractor has completed the installation of underground utilities throughout the project, and is constructing the new street curbs and pavement, as well as the sidewalks along the north side of Lake Street. Construction of the new Plaza Park and of the street lighting system continues. Sidewalk, trail, street lights and Plaza Park construction will continue in the coming weeks.
