The Lake Street construction project continues to proceed on schedule. This week, construction crews continued sidewalk and trail installation, construction of street light systems, and preparation of the planting beds along Lake Street. Work continues on the restroom building and other features of the new Lake Street Plaza Park.

Next week, crews are scheduled to work on surface milling and paving on Lake Street, west of Barry Avenue. Crews will also be preparing planting beds, irrigation systems, and placing topsoil in this area. Additionally, crews will continue work on features at the new Lake Street Plaza Park.

Westbound Lake Street between Broadway and Walker avenues is open to motorists. Construction activities are ongoing in this area, so please drive carefully through the construction zone. Pedestrians are encouraged to use sidewalks, rather than the street, where they are available.

Detours remain in place for the remainder of Lake Street, and businesses continue to be accessible to pedestrians. There is ample parking available on adjacent side streets and at the City's Mill Street parking ramp.
