Please Use the Sidewalks on Lake Street
When visiting Downtown Wayzata, please use sidewalks where they are available. The streets are for construction crews and large equipment and pose a safety threat to pedestrians. There are many safety hazards that exist on the Wayzata Panoway construction site, which is why the site has been fenced, and the public is not permitted to enter the site.
The posted detour routes for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians are the safest routes around the construction zone. Using the railroad corridor is also prohibited and walking or biking in the railroad corridor is considered trespassing. Please use the designated detour routes instead. For more detailed information about the detour routes, including maps, visit
