Landscaping and Restroom Facility Design

Major work on the new public restrooms has been completed. The need for the public restroom facilities were identified during the 10-year public engagement process that has resulted in Panoway on Wayzata Bay. Currently, residents and visitors do not have any easily accessible restroom options and must rely on businesses and restaurants. To alleviate this burden on downtown businesses, a two-stall unisex public restroom was included in the Panoway construction plans.

Check out the following video below to learn more about the landscaping and get a look at what the public restroom facilities will look like when complete. https://youtu.be/OZR1H6WmsmM

Wayzata Beach & Marina

“Permit Parking Only” signs have been added along the north and west sides of the parking lot by the Wayzata Beach and Marina. Wayzata Beach has reopened to swimming effective yesterday, August 27. The beach was closed to swimming on August 25 due to a high bacteria count from a water sample. Hennepin County rested the water on August 26 and found that it returned to safe limits and the beach could be reopened.

The City’s Streets Department has nearly completed painting crosswalks and other pavement markings throughout the City. Main line street and parking lot striping will continue in September. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these street maintenance activities.

Electric Car Charging Stations

Beginning September 15, 2020 the electric car charging stations will no longer be free to use.  There will be a $1.00 per hour fee for charging.  This fee for use is necessary to help offset the cost of electricity that the City provides for this service.
