Recovery for Lake Street Businesses

The City’s Lake Street Business District was selected as a recovery zone for assistance from Hennepin County. The City and Forecast Public Art have reviewed the results of a survey (over 100 responses received) and are deciding on strategies that make people feel comfortable and safe visiting the Lake Street area in fall and winter. This work is being done in time for Small Business Saturday on November 28. The City is working closely with the Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce. It is funded by the Federal CARES Act. Forecast Public Art will make a presentation to the City Council on October 20.

Residents are required to unbag all materials and are asked to take empty bags home for reuse or disposal.

The Compost Site is Located at 299 Wayzata Blvd W.

Lake Street (Broadway Ave to Ferndale Road)

Construction continues at the Ferndale Road and Grove Lane / Barry Avenue railroad crossings. Work began in these areas on October 7th and is expected to be completed by the end of the month. Crews are reconstructing the street, trail, sidewalk, and storm sewer facilities in these locations. The roads will remain open to motorists. Flagging will be utilized as needed while the work is being done. Thank you for your continued patience during this complex street reconstruction project.

Electric Car Charging Stations

Beginning September 15, 2020 the electric car charging stations will no longer be free to use.  There will be a $1.00 per hour fee for charging. This fee for use is necessary to help offset the cost of electricity that the City provides for this service.
