A Reminder to Stay Safe This Halloween

With cases of COVID-19 on the rise in Minnesota, it is important to note that door-to-door trick-or-treating and other Halloween activities pose an increased and high risk of spreading and/or contracting both COVID-19 and the Flu.  However, there are still plenty of ways to have fun despite the unique circumstances. Check out the image below to get ideas for lower risk activities to keep your family safe this Halloween.

Phase One of Panoway on Wayzata Bay is Complete!

From making our city’s iconic Lake Street more pedestrian-friendly to creating greater public access to downtown’s Lake Minnetonka shoreline, the completion of this phase is an important first step in enhancing and preserving the lakefront experience for generations to come. To celebrate, the Wayzata Conservancy brought together residents, community and business leaders, and donors for a virtual ribbon cutting. Click Below.

Important Absentee Ballot Due Date Change

A federal appeals court ruled on Thursday evening that ballots received after 8 p.m. on Election Day must be set aside and could face legal challenges that would result in them not being counted.

You should no longer place your absentee ballot in the mail. Instead, you will have several options to ensure your vote is counted in the November general election:

Drop your ballot off at city hall prior to 3 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, or it may not be counted.

Vote Early In Person at City Hall
You can also cast your vote in person with an absentee ballot at City Hall up until November 2, 2020. Hours to vote at City Hall have been extended to 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday October 31 and 5:00 p.m. Monday November 2 or join us on Election Day, November 3 from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

FAQ:

What if my ballot is already in the mail?
If you already put your ballot in the mail, you can track it at http://www.mnvotes.org/track. If your ballot has not yet been received you can vote in-person either by absentee, or at City Hall on Election Day.

I still have my ballot at home, how long do I have to drop it off?
You can deliver your ballot to City Hall by hand (or have someone you trust hand-deliver it for you). Note that if you're dropping off a ballot, it must be received by 3 p.m. on Election Day or it will not be counted.
