National Recognition for the Section Foreman HouseMeaningful recognition for the Panoway at Wayzata Bay's Section Foreman House --- now officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places! This would not have been made possible without the support of the Wayzata City Council, Wayzata Heritage Preservation Board, Wayzata Historical Society and the Wayzata Conservancy. No Garbage or Recycling Collection on Monday, May 31stIn observance of Memorial Day on Monday May 31st, Randy’s Environmental Services (Republic Services) will be closed and garbage, yard waste and recycling collection days will be delayed by one day.
Garbage, Blue Bag Organics, yard waste (if enrolled in yard waste program) and recycling for residents south of Wayzata Blvd. will be picked up Tuesday, June 1st. Please have your garbage and recycling carts out by 7 a.m. on June 1st.

Farmer's Market Returns Next Week The Wayzata Farmer's Market returns next week on June 3rd. The market will take place from 1:30 - 5:30 p.m. at 850 Lake Street North at the Promenade.
The market will continue throughout the summer, every Thursday, through September 30th.

State Mask Mandate Lifted Governor Walz lifted the statewide mask mandate following the CDC announcement that vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a mask. The state continues to recommend unvaccinated Minnesotans mask up to protect themselves and their neighbors. The City will be following the CDC and State’s guidelines in order to keep our staff and public safe.

Proposed Design Standard Updates Will Be Presented on June 1At the City Council meeting on June 1, staff will be presenting the proposed updates to Chapter 909 of City Code, which includes the City’s Design Standards. Public Works UpdateThings Opening for the Summer Panoway Splash PadThe Panoway Splash Pad is planned to open on Friday, May 28. It will be operational from 10am – 8pm, daily. Please note: the activation button requires the touch of a bare foot or bare hand.
McCormick’s Beachside Concession The McCormick’s concession stand will open at the Wayzata Beach on Tuesday, June 1. Their menu will consist of Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Chili Cheese Dogs, Lobster Rolls, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Possible Construction Impacts This Month

New Sidewalks Near Hollybrook Road and Circle A DriveConcrete sidewalks will be constructed along the north side of Hollybrook Road, and along the west side of Circle A Drive. This project will also include the installation of storm sewer pipes and structures and the relocation of some fire hydrants along the north side of Hollybrook Road, to make room for the sidewalk. Sidewalk construction has begun on Circle A Drive, and underground utility work has begun on Hollybrook Road.

MnDOT Highway 12 Maintenance near CR 101 and Gleason Lake RoadMnDOT Crews will by laying an aggregate layer to get a little more life out of the road. This will require the road to be reduced to two lanes between Central Ave/County Road 101 and Gleason Lake Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly June 1-15. Crews will have to come back at the end of June to put down stripes during off-peak hours.
