Community Open House to
Discuss Tree Preservation 

Join us on July 12th at 5:00 p.m. in Shaver Park to discuss and review the current Tree Preservation Ordinance (§936 and §710). This will be the first of several community meetings to receive input on any potential changes to the Tree Preservation Ordinance to be recommended to the City Council. The goal is to determine if any changes are necessary to the Ordinance to protect, preserve, and enhance the natural environment of the community.

Wayzata Art Experience - Tomorrow!

The Wayzata Art Experience will return this weekend on June 26th & 27th to Lake Street and draw art lovers from across the Twin Cities with its annual 2-day celebration of art, music, food, and fun for all ages. This event is hosted by the Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce and will feature 100 juried artists, sailboat rides, food trucks and more.

Become a Night to Unite Block Party Host for Your Neighborhood

Neighborhoods across Wayzata have been gathering to celebrate Night to Unite for more than 40 years!
On August 3rd, there will be a kickoff luncheon (more details to come). Later that evening, Wayzata Police, Fire, City staff, elected officials, and McGruff, will visit neighborhood parties throughout Wayzata and Long Lake. Along with the police cars and fire trucks, there will be trinkets for kids and a crime prevention message at each stop. This is a great time to ask questions of elected
officials, police officers, firefighters, and City staff.

Watering Restrictions are in Effect

With the recent heat, the City of Wayzata is nearing drought conditions. As a reminder, the City has an annual Ordinance restricting water use from May 1 - Sept. 30.

The restrictions are as follows:

• Water supplied by the City of Wayzata may not be used to water lawns, sod or seeded areas between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

• Properties with even-numbered addresses may only use water supplied by the City of Wayzata outdoors on even-numbered calendar days. Properties with odd-numbered addresses may only use water supplied by the City of Wayzata outdoors on odd-numbered calendar days.
• Homeowners associations and apartment complexes with multiple addresses that provide a common outdoor water irrigation system may only use water supplied by the City of Wayzata outdoors every other day. Such associations and complexes must inform the City that they have this type of system.
