Public Works Update
New Playground Installation Ends for the Season

The remaining work will be completed in the spring and then the new facility will be opened to the public.  The previous equipment is being donated to an organization called “Kids around the World”.  This organization works to establish playgrounds in poverty-stricken communities, restoring the opportunity for kids to enjoy the kind of play that is key to their physical, emotional, spiritual and cognitive development.  Photos of the installation progress, as well as a rendering of the new playground, can be found below.

Sidewalk repairs

The City has hired Create Construction to perform miscellaneous sidewalk repairs in the City. The concrete work was completed this week, and the City’s Streets Department will be completing the associated bituminous pavement restoration early next week, before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. There are two additional areas that will be completed in the spring of 2022, including repairs along Lake Street West, and repairs at the Wayzata Beach, near the restroom building.

Tree Trimming

The City’s Parks Department is currently working their way across the City, trimming trees in the public right-of-way.
