Sign Up for DIY Tree Tapping

Try DIY tree tapping on Wayzata's Big Woods Knoll or your back yard! This year, to keep our community safe, there will not be a gathering event for Maple Tree Tapping nor will we be reducing the sap in a central location.  That process will be handled by you in your yard. Instead, we encourage you to sign up for the DIY experience, which will allow you to do it on your own time (after the sap starts rising) and remain a safe distance.

LaSalle Pond Maintenance to Begin January 31

Nadeau Companies, LLC will perform pond maintenance (dredging) on the LaSalle Pond, south of LaSalle Street, between Reno and Lacher Streets.

The project includes excavating accumulated sediment from within the pond and making improvements at the pond’s inlet and outlet pipes. These improvements will help improve the stormwater quality and reduce the amount of pollutants that are discharged downstream. Pond dredging typically occurs every 15-25 years and this pond was originally constructed in 1990 and is in need maintenance.

Work will begin on January 31 and will take around 7-8 business days to complete.
