Tree marked with an orange x

You May Notice Trees Coming Down Near You

Some of the City's Ash Trees are Infested with EAB

In order to preserve Wayzata's natural landscape, infested City trees are being removed due to EAB infestation. Infested trees will be marked with an orange x in the coming weeks.

Emerald Ash Borer has quickly spread across Wayzata. EAB is an insect that attacks and kills ash trees. The adults are small, iridescent green beetles that live outside of trees during the summer months and the larvae live underneath the bark of ash trees. Trees are killed by the tunneling of the larvae under the tree's bark.

water main flushing

Water Main Flushing will Begin April 17

You may notice discolored water during the process

The Wayzata Utility Department will be flushing water mains and fire hydrants from April 17 through April 28. This will remove any particulate matter that may have built up in the water mains over the year and ensure that all fire hydrants are operating properly. If you notice
discolored water, run the cold-water faucets until water runs clear. Residents are advised to be observant while washing clothes until after the flushing period. In the event of inclement weather, the schedule may change.
