The project team is proposing a 67-unit apartment building, 9 attached townhomes, a 34,000 square foot office building, and a 5,500 square foot Wells Fargo bank. The majority of parking will be underground.

The Planning Commission gave their initial approval of the application on June 20. The City Council meeting is scheduled for July 19.

Please submit public comments ahead of time to publiccomment@wayzata.org.

830 Lake St (Baja Haus) – Patio Application
A development application has been submitted for Baja Haus, a restaurant located in the Village Shoppes at 830 Lake St E. Baja Haus is seeking to create a yearly patio that occupies four parking spaces outside the restaurant. The previous patio was permitted under the City’s pandemic relief policies. The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit for outdoor sales and service, along with a variance to reduce the parking requirement for the building by four spaces.

The Planning Commission will discuss the application at their July 18 meeting.

1022 Wayzata Boulevard – Revised Application
A revised development application has been submitted at 1022 Wayzata Blvd, at the former gas station next to Edina Realty. The applicant is proposing to combine the northern and southern parcels and pursue a rezoning/Comprehensive Plan Amendment in order to support a future retail tenant. The previous proposal for this property, for a Caribou Cabin/Urban Wok, was denied earlier this year.

The Planning Commission will discuss the application at their July 18 meeting.
