Wayzata PD Update

phone

If you see something, say something.

Recently, we have been hearing from residents that they didn't call 9-1-1 when they saw an incident occur because it didn't feel like an "emergency". Please know that 9-1-1 is always the best way to get a response from law enforcement to help our Police Officers actively respond in real time. So, if you see something, say something... by calling 9-1-1 right away. This will better help us serve the community.

Proposals Under Review

341 Ramsey Road

A revised development application has been submitted at 341 Ramsey Road for an attached garage requiring variances for rear yard setback, hardcover, and lot coverage.

The Planning Commission recommended denial of the application by a 4-3 vote at their August 15 meeting, and the City Council is scheduled to consider it on October 4.

344 Ferndale Road North – Subdivision
A development application has been submitted at 344 Ferndale Road North, currently the site of one single family home. The owners propose to split the existing lot into two, keep their current house, and build a new home on the second parcel. A detached garage would be demolished.

The Planning Commission recommended approval of the application with conditions at their August 1 meeting. The City Council meeting will be on September 26.

Verizon Wireless Installing Small-Cell Equipment
Verizon Wireless will be installing small-cell wireless antenna equipment on several City-owned street light poles. The installation of the first of five antennas has begun in the southeast corner of Lake Street East & Minnetonka Avenue South. Verizon has replaced the existing street light pole with a structurally reinforced pole that has a similar appearance to the existing pole. The additional antenna equipment will extend approximately 10 feet higher than the street light pole. Contact the City’s Engineering Department at 952-404-5371 with questions related to the Verizon Wireless equipment.

Comcast has begun installation of residential Cable and Internet

Comcast has been granted approval to provide cable TV and internet service to Wayzata’s residents, and began installing the infrastructure system in July. Some of the infrastructure will be aerial (mounted on existing utility poles) and some of it will be installed underground. When scheduled to work in your neighborhood, Comcast’s contractor, Universal Services, will notify residents by placing door hangers on your door, like the  one shown here.

If you have questions or would like more information about the project, you can visit the project webpage here: https://twincities.comcast.com/wayzataexpansion/ or you can contact Universal Services at 651-432-3000.
