Please Stay Off the Ice For Now

Although the Parks Department has flooded and began preparing the City’s ice rinks for use, the recent warm temperatures have prevented the ice from gaining enough strength to support the equipment required to maintain them. The City’s Parks Department continues to monitor rinks, and will continue preparations for public use as soon as possible, depending on weather. Staff will post signs to stay off the ice until the rinks are officially opened. Thank you for your patience!

Snow Reminders

fire hydrant covered in snow

Adopt a Fire Hydrant

In the event of a fire emergency during the winter, could firefighters find the hydrant near your home? Or does it get buried under a snow pile?

The Fire Department is encouraging residents to "adopt a fire hydrant" near their home and keep snow shoveled away from it during the winter season. This will ensure hydrants are visible and will greatly speed the response time in case of an emergency. There is no need to notify the City or the Fire Department about a hydrant you have adopted, as this is an informal volunteer program. Your help is appreciated!
