Zoning Text Amendments

The City has submitted an application to modify Chapters 902, 916, 917, 919, and 920 of the zoning code in order to bring them into compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, correct inconsistencies, and incorporate best practices. The Planning Commission will consider these changes at their April 3 meeting.

For more information, visit the Zoning Study webpage.

Panoway Conditional Use Permits

Phase 2A of the Panoway project includes the construction of a boardwalk and new docks on Lake Minnetonka. With that, two conditional use permits are required: one to allow public recreation on the lake and another to build in the lake’s floodway. The City Council voted (3-1) to approve the permits at their March 22 meeting.

Cantissimo Senior Living is a proposed memory care facility with up to 40 residents. The project also includes requests for a variance, rezoning, and design deviations. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the application at their January 23 meeting. The City Council approved the application at their March 7 meeting. The project will return later this spring for approval of their development agreement by Council.

Applicant Black Dog Homes has applied for a subdivision at 1030 Lake St E. The parcel currently has one home on it and would be divided into three separate properties for three future homes. The City Council considered the item at their March 22 meeting, but in order to vote on the matter with four Councilmembers instead of three, will consider it on their April 3 meeting instead.
