Wayzata Boulevard Corridor Stud Draft: Key Findings and Summary The Wayzata Boulevard Corridor Study set out to explore the future potential for this key area of the community. The study engaged with the community and analyzed technical data to create a framework and strategies to guide decision-making along the corridor. Key findings from the draft study include: 1. Land Use & Development: Update land use regulations to guide mixed-use development along the corridor, including an increase to a 4-story building height for properties east of Central Avenue. 2. Safety Improvements: Implement short-term safety improvements including curb extensions, crosswalks, and signage to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety at all major intersections. 3. Transportation & Mobility: Collaborate with Hennepin County to redesign Wayzata Boulevard between Superior Boulevard and Bushaway Road to include a center planted median that reduces conflicting turning movements and add a pedestrian crossing. 4. Public Realm: Create a Wayzata gateway plan to create a welcoming design for entrances into the community. Council will review the study later this summer.
