Sign Up for Green Bag Organics

Wayzata residents can recycle their organics through the Green Bag Organics Composting System. With the Green Bag Organics program, residents can toss food waste, and food-soiled paper (pizza boxes and paper plates), into a Green Bag Organics BPI-certified bag.

Unlike most trash bags, these liners are made to be compostable. On trash day, residents then place the Green Bag inside their regular garbage cart for curbside pickup.

Public Art, Landscaping, and New Signage - Wayzata Boulevard

Four Key Takeaways were developed from the initial draft of the Wayzata Boulevard Corridor Study.  The categories for each takeaway were:

  • Land Use & Development
  • Safety Improvements
  • Transportation & Mobility
  • Public Realm

Key Takeaway #4: Public Realm

Where does Wayzata begin? While there are a few ways to enter Wayzata, three “gateway” locations are included in the Corridor Study: Wayzata Blvd and Highway 12 (west), Central Ave and Highway 12 (north), and Wayzata Blvd and Bushaway Road (east). The staff has heard from the community that these spots provide an opportunity to welcome visitors and show Wayzata’s unique sense of place and identity. A separate Gateway Plan will be created to achieve this and may include creating public art, improving landscaping, and new signage.
