Congratulations to the Winter Medallion Hunt Winners!Last Thursday morning, at around 8:53 a.m., the Winter Medallion was found! This year's hiding spot was under a book sculpture in the Children's Park next to the library. Congratulations to Whit, Howie, and Freddie! Tonight, all three siblings will have the honor of lighting the town with Mayor Mouton at Light Up the Lake at 5:45 p.m. See you there! |

Donate to Toys for TotsThe Police Department’s annual Toys for Tots Collection Drive will kick off tonight at the Light Up the Lake event. Donations of new unwrapped toys for kids or teens can be dropped off at the Depot from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. for the duration of the event. After November 24, toy donations will be accepted at City Hall and the PD through the middle of December. Once donations are collected, police from as many as 20 departments will load their cruisers with donated gifts and then lights blazing and sirens blaring, they will parade to the KARE 11 Toys for Tots dropoff site in time for the 5:00 p.m. newscast. |

Applications are now open for the 2024 Boat Slip Lottery! Applications are limited to one per residence and are due the first Tuesday in February. Mayor for a Day Essay ContestWhat would our cities look like if kids were in charge? The League of Minnesota Cities Mayor for a Day Essay Contest is back to find out! To enter, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders can answer the prompt, “What would you do if you were mayor for a day?” for a chance to win $100 and recognition in Minnesota Cities magazine. Students and parents/guardians can submit essays via an online form, a PDF email attachment, or through the mail. Winners only will be notified in early January. Essays are due December 12. Snow Removal & Parking Reminders
If the snowfall is two or more inches before 8:00 p.m., the snow parking regulations go into effect at 2:00 a.m. the next morning. At that time, snow plowing will begin and any vehicles parked on unplowed city streets will be tagged and/or towed. If an accumulation of two inches or more occurs after 8:00 p.m., the snow parking ban will go into effect the following morning at 2:00 a.m. (24 hours later). If there is an accumulation of snow after 8:00 p.m., plowing may occur. Cars parked on city streets will not be tagged, but cars may be plowed in. Visit wayzata.org and look for the alert bar on the homepage or call 952-404-5369 after 8:00 p.m. to learn if the parking ordinance is in effect. Community Development728 Wayzata Blvd E – Fence VariancesThe homeowners at 728 Wayzata Blvd E are proposing to keep an existing, illegally nonconforming fence constructed in 2022, which requires two variances due to its height and opacity. The Planning Commission will consider the application at their November 20 meeting. 825 Mill St E (Promenade) – Mill St Flats Owner Wayzata Bay Superior Retail has submitted an application to turn the former Lunds and Byerly’s space at the Promenade’s Superior Block into first-floor apartments. Requests include a Planned Unit Development Amendment and Shoreland District Conditional Use Permit. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the application by a vote of 4-3 at their November 6 meeting.
