Parking and Snow Removal Reminder

With winter weather on the horizon, here are a few important reminders regarding snow removal and parking in Wayzata:

  • If the snowfall is 2 or more inches before 8 p.m., snow parking regulations go into effect at 2:00 a.m. the next morning. At that time, snow plowing will begin and any vehicles parked on unplowed streets will be tagged and/or towed.
  • If an accumulation of 2 inches or more occurs after 8 p.m., a snow parking ban will go into effect the following morning at 2 a.m. (24 hours later).
  • Stay informed and receive Snow Emergency Parking Ban Alerts! Subscribers can receive text and email notifications from the City when citywide snow plowing is planned. Click here to sign up.
  • Snow from privately owned property may only be placed adjacent to your own property, when clearing your driveway. It cannot be pushed across the street and it may not be deposited elsewhere.

Winter Driving Reminder

Heavy snow accumulation and reduced visibility is expected through the weekend. Please be prepared by having an emergency kit in your vehicle.

If you must travel, be sure to leave extra early, decrease your speeds, keep a reactionary distance between you and other drivers, and always buckle up. If your vehicle goes in the ditch or is stalled on the side of the road, please dial 911, keep your seatbelt on and stay in your vehicle.
