community lakewalk and docks on wayzata bay

New Docks are Now Open - Lakewalk Opening Soon!

The Broadway and Depot docks are officially complete and open to the public and the Lakewalk is set to be complete within the next few days!

Due to the incomplete condition of the decking and railing of the Lakewalk, the full length of the Lakewalk is not yet open to the public. Do not go around the barricades.

In the next few weeks, BNSF railroad will be installing automated pedestrian safety gates at the Broadway Avenue Crossing and the Barry Avenue Crossing.  The docks should remain accessible during this work, but please proceed with caution while this work is being performed.

New Paid Boat Parking for Non-Residents; Free for Wayzata Residents

The new docks have a paid parking system. The boat parking payment system will help offset costs associated with the new community docks such as the cost for dockmasters and general maintenance. In addition, payment will only be required for non-resident users, which will diversify City revenue to help alleviate costs to Wayzata residents. The Dock Design Working Group, Panoway District Committee, and City staff reviewed various options of a parking payment system and ultimately recommended the approved system to the City Council.
