Water Meters to be Replaced This Fall

The City has contracted with Ferguson Waterworks and RMR Services to replace two-thirds of residential and commercial water meters throughout the city. Meters were last replaced 20 years ago and are approaching their useful life. The project is anticipated to begin in September and the contractor will be notifying affected properties, via letter, to schedule appointments.

There will be no cost to the property owner for this meter upgrade, but owners are required to have the water meter replaced. Property owners will need to ensure that the water shutoff valve on the incoming water service is in working condition, and if the valve does not close or it leaks, it will need to be replaced or repaired prior to scheduling an appointment.
