Update on New Docks

If you've spent any time along Panoway, you've noticed our shiny new docks! The docks were designed by J.F. Brennan with guidance from a community-led dock design subcommittee. Generally, the big changes from the previous docks are that they are floating, there are more loading areas, there is an expanded number of slips, and they are constructed with higher quality decking. The City also implemented a pay system to cover a portion of the maintenance and operations, however, residents can park for free. Register for free parking here.

We have collected a lot of feedback from boaters, community members, and dock workers over the past month and a half since they have been open and will continue to do so for the remainder of the summer. In September, staff and community members plan to meet again to discuss all the feedback and opportunities to make the user experience even better before the next year.

Water Meters to be Replaced This Fall

The City has contracted with Ferguson Waterworks and RMR Services to replace two-thirds of residential and commercial water meters throughout the city. Meters were last replaced 20 years ago and are approaching their useful life. The project is anticipated to begin in September and the contractor will be notifying affected properties, via letter, to schedule appointments.

While there will be no cost to property owners for this meter upgrade, owners are required to have the water meter replaced. Property owners will need to ensure that the water shutoff valve on the incoming water service is in working condition, and if the valve does not close or it leaks, it will need to be replaced or repaired prior to scheduling an appointment.

Community Development

NEW – 163 Wayzata Blvd W – Moments of Wayzata

Applicant TMSC of Wayzata, LLC has submitted a development application to demolish the existing building (Meridian Manor) and replace it with an 80-unit two-story memory care facility that has a total of 89,900 square feet. The proposed plans also show a reconfiguration of the parking lot. The Planning Commission will consider the application at their August 5 meeting.

NEW – 332 Broadway Ave S – Eloise Restaurant

Owner Beltz Enterprises, LLC has applied to amend two existing conditional use permits related to parking at 332 Broadway Ave S. The former Lululemon space is becoming a new restaurant, Eloise, which will require additional fee-in-lieu of parking (FILOP) to account for increased parking demand during the day. The Planning Commission will consider the application at their August 5 meeting.

1903-1907 Wayzata Blvd E – PUD Amendment

Owner CWE, LLC proposes to amend the existing Planned Unit Development at Wayzata Executive Park to better align with modern zoning uses.
