Broadway Ave/Wayzata Blvd Traffic Signal Replacement Update

The City of Wayzata has contracted with J.L Theis Inc. to replace the traffic signal at the Broadway Avenue/Wayzata Blvd. intersection. Work on this project began in mid-October. Currently, there is a temporary traffic signal system in place, and the contractor is completing curb and sidewalk work on the south side of the intersection and installing permanent signal system components. It is anticipated that the curb and sidewalk work on the north side of the intersection and the permanent signal system will not be complete until the spring of 2025.

Water Service Letter

Last week, letters were mailed to approximately 365 property owners regarding their water service lines. The City is in the process of preparing a service line inventory and, according to our records, the service material of these properties is unknown but may contain lead.

Lead is not a significant concern in Wayzata’s drinking water. The City tests the water regularly and provides a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) on an annual basis. The City is simply preparing an inventory based on both state and federal requirements.

Please contact our Assistant Director of Public Works, Nick Nystrom at nnystrom@wayzata.org with any questions regarding this notice.
