Take a Short Survey to Tell Us What You Think About Neighborhood Character in the R-3A District

The City is studying the character of newly redeveloped homes in the entire R-3A district, which includes the parcels depicted in orange above. The full study includes City Council and Planning Commission workshops (complete), resident and developer engagement (in progress), and a public hearing process for proposed code changes (upcoming).

Your feedback is valuable! Please take this short survey on desired neighborhood character. The survey will be open until November 26.

There will also be an open house on November 25 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. All residents who would like to discuss the character of the R-3A neighborhood are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Water Meter Replacement Coming Soon

The City of Wayzata has contracted with Ferguson Waterworks and VEPO Metering to replace approximately two-thirds of the residential and commercial water meters throughout the city. Meters were last replaced approximately 20 years ago and are approaching their useful life. The project is anticipated to begin in November of 2024.  The contractor will be notifying affected properties, via letter, to schedule appointments, in the coming weeks.  There will be no cost to the property owner for this meter upgrade, but owners are required to have the water meter replaced.

Property owners will need to ensure that the water shutoff valve on the incoming water service (before your water meter) is in working condition.  If the valve does not close or it leaks, it will need to be replaced or repaired prior to scheduling an appointment.

Keep Storm Drains Clear of Yard Waste

Although yard waste is composted of natural materials that will eventually decompose, the debris can affect the health of our aquatic ecosystem and could ruin our creeks and lakes. You can prevent this by keeping leaves off the street and utilizing yard waste collection events like the one below.
