Proposed Cannabis RegulationsOver the last few months, the City Council and Planning Commission have been reviewing proposed cannabis business regulations. The state is anticipated to begin approving business licenses for the legal sale of cannabis in January, and it is in the City’s best interest to have an adopted set of rules for cannabis businesses before that begins. The City Council tabled the first reading of the ordinance after discussion at their December 3 meeting and will consider it at their December 17 meeting. For more information, please visit the Agenda Center here.

Wayzata Skating RinksDue to the recent drop in temperatures, the City has begun preparing ice rinks for use over the winter months. Klapprich field was flooded this past week. Because of the forecasted variable temperatures, it will take time before the ice gains enough strength to support the equipment needed to prepare the ice for use by the public. Signs will be posted to stay off the ice until the rinks are officially opened. Please wait to use the ice until the rinks are fully ready for use. Thank you for your patience.

Meters were last replaced approximately 20 years ago and are approaching their useful life. The contractor has begun notifying affected properties, via letter, to schedule appointments, beginning in mid-December. There will be no cost to the property owner for this meter upgrade, but owners are required to have the water meter replaced.
