Snow Removal RemindersProperty owners are responsible for clearing the end of their driveway and snow accumulation near their mailbox. During the first few hours of daylight following a storm, snow from any public sidewalk adjoining their building and/or lot must be removed. Snow from privately owned property may only be placed upon boulevards adjacent to said property. This means that snow can only be placed adjacent to your own property, when clearing your driveway. It cannot be pushed across the street and it may not be deposited down the street. Please pass this on to anyone that may performing snow removal duties for your property. If you live in an apartment or condo in town, please contact your management company for any parking lot or sidewalk snow removal concerns or questions. Click here to learn more

Wayzata Skating RinksThe Parks Department has taken advantage of the recent drop in temperatures to begin preparing the City’s ice rinks for use over the winter months! Klapprich field and Margaret Circle park have both been flooded. Because of the forecasted variable temperatures, it will take time before the ice gains enough strength to support the equipment needed to prepare the ice for use by the public. Signs will be posted to stay off the ice until rinks are fully prepped for use. Stay tuned on social media and this email for opening dates.

The City will not be clearing snow from the path, allowing it to naturally pack down and create a winter walking trail. Proposed Cannabis RegulationsOver the last few months, the City Council and Planning Commission have been reviewing proposed cannabis business regulations. The state is anticipated to begin approving business licenses for the legal sale of cannabis in 2025, and it is in the City’s best interest to have an adopted set of rules for cannabis businesses before that begins. In December, the City Council voted to approve the ordinance. For more information, please visit the Agenda Center here.
