Meet the Council: A Message from Mayor, Andrew Mullin

Hello, Wayzata residents! I am thrilled to introduce myself as your new Mayor. Happy New Year! It's a time to embrace new beginnings, to reflect on the past with gratitude, and to look forward to the future with optimism.

It is my honor to join my fellow neighbors on the Council Alex Plechash, Molly MacDonald, Jeff Parkhill &  Ken Sorensen to represent you. I pledge to work collaboratively with our residents, businesses, and staff to address the challenges and opportunities facing our community.

As we turn the page towards 2025 please note that we are planning a State of the City address to be held at Wayzata City Hall on February 25 at 5:00 p.m. I will be there at 4:30 p.m. and would love to meet you before the program. In the meantime, I'm eager to hear from you! Don't hesitate to reach out and follow me on social media (details provided below). I'm excited to connect and hear your ideas as we collaborate to enhance our community. Together, we can create a brighter future for Wayzata.

Will the Lakewalk Remain Open During the Winter Season?

The Panoway Lakewalk is planned to remain open during the winter season. The City will not be clearing snow from the path, allowing it to naturally pack down and create a winter walking trail. City staff will regularly monitor the condition of the Lakewalk, and if conditions are deemed unsafe, the Lakewalk will be closed to the public.

Water Meter Replacement

The City of Wayzata has contracted with Ferguson Waterworks and VEPO Metering to replace approximately two-thirds of the residential and commercial water meters throughout the city. Meters were last replaced approximately 20 years ago and are approaching their useful life. The contractor has begun notifying affected properties, via letter, to schedule appointments, beginning in mid-December. There will be no cost to the property owner for this meter upgrade, but owners are required to have the water meter replaced.
