A Message from Mayor Mullin
Last month, I co-hosted an event with Wayzata resident Elaine Ambrose from Braver Angels, a non-partisan nonprofit dedicated to bridging the partisan divide. I'm excited to invite you to our next step in strengthening our community dialogue.
Workshop: Skills for Disagreeing Better
In today's polarized climate, it's difficult to truly understand why people on the other political side hold their beliefs. We often lack the skills to look for common ground, listen carefully, and share our perspectives constructively.
This workshop is designed to help you disagree better by learning to accurately see where we differ and where we share common ground. You will gain:
- More understanding of the values and concerns of those who differ politically.
- Better skills for listening so others feel heard.
- Better skills for sharing viewpoints in a way the other person can hear.
