220 Central Ave S

On January 6, 2026, The City Council unanimously approved an application for a variance to the minimum lot width and a conditional use permit (CUP) for 220 Central Ave. S. to construct a two-family home. The Planning Commission held the public hearing on December 1, 2025 and the Commission unanimously recommended approval of the application on December 21st. The application was submitted by Custom One Homes, LLC, the owner of the property. The property is located within the R-3A zoning district which requires a lot width of 100 feet for two-family homes. At 89.9’ wide, the lot required a 10.1 foot variance for a two-family home. Additionally, two-family homes are a conditional use in the R3-A district. Conditional uses are generally permitted, however the City may impose conditions to mitigate potential impacts the use may have on adjoining properties. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid to late summer of 2026.
