Boat Slip Lottery Applications Due February 3

Boat Slip Lottery Applications are accepted until the 1st Tuesday in February (February 3, 2026). Applications for boat slips are limited to one per residence and are only accepted from City of Wayzata residents. Per City Code, permits are issued through a lottery process as outlined in policy, with the lottery held on the first Tuesday in March. Applicants receive additional chances in the lottery for each consecutive year they have applied for a boat slip permit.

Precinct Caucuses on February 3

Precinct caucuses are meetings organized by Minnesota’s political parties and mark the first step in the party organizing process. At these meetings, participants may endorse candidates, elect delegates, and establish party goals and values, known as party platforms. Click here for more information.

Statewide precinct caucuses are held on a designated date in even-numbered years. The 2026 precinct caucuses will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Caucuses are administered by the political parties. Precinct caucus locations for Wayzata residents are as follows:

Wayzata Chilly Open on February 7 

Each year, over 2,000 golfers come with their golf clubs and hockey sticks to putt with tennis balls around Wayzata Bay as a part of the Wayzata Chilly Open. There is a ticketed golf tournament, and several other "chilly" activities like the Chili Cook-off, Snowga, live music, and more!  Click here to learn more and buy tickets!

Maple Tree Tapping Sign-Up

Sign up to participate in the 2026 Maple Tree Tapping Program! Each participant will receive equipment and learn how to tap a Maple tree. Once your sap is collected then a community boil will take place to turn your sap into syrup! Sign up at the link below and you will be contacted on next steps. Click here to sign up

Walser Lamborghini - 1022 & 1042 Wayzata Blvd E.

On Monday January 26, 2026, the Planning Commission directed staff to prepare a report of recommended approval for the Walser Lamborghini land use application. The project is scheduled for final review by the Planning Commission on Monday February 9, 2026.

In December 2025, Walser Lamborghini applied for a land use application which included a preliminary plat to combine 1022 and 1042 Wayzata Blvd E. into a single parcel, a Planned Unit Development (PUD) General Plan, a variance a fence exceeding 6 feet in height, setback variance for parking from the southern property line and required number of parking stall variance and vacation of drainage and utility easements between the two parcels being combined and two design deviations. City Council is scheduled to hold a review this item on February 24, 2026. Full plans are available on the City’s Development Project webpage

Gleahaven Road Subdivision – 121 Gleahaven Road and 190 Gleason Lake Road

A development application has been received for a preliminary plat to subdivide 121 Gleahaven Road and 190 Gleason Lake Road into four separate parcels for single-family homes. The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing to review this item on February 9, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. Full plans are available on the City’s Development Project webpage.
